Artisan bread touches all the senses. Bakers who create bread appreciate the work of art by the look of the golden crust, the sound of the crackling crust, the softness of the crumb, the beautiful smell of it fresh out of the oven and of course the taste. They are always striving for “the perfect loaf”.
As a home baker I became captured by the beauty of making sourdough bread. The one dilemma I faced after making a fresh loaf was how to store it.
So, I created The Keeki Bag.
The Keeki bag is a natural way to store your bread. It is a beeswax lined linen bag. The outside dimensions of the bag are 11"x14". Large enough to comfortably fit a 1000g boule of bread. With the wide opening and closing drawstring, it is easier to use than a flat beeswax wrap. It allows the bread to breathe unlike a plastic bag. The natural antibacterial property of beeswax will help to deter mold but will not prevent it from occurring at all. Always monitor the contents of the bag for any signs of mold growth.
This bag is 5" longer than our original Keeki bag for those bakers who make a larger loaf of bread or get the larger rise. The exterior dimensions are 19"x11". Interior dimensions are 15"x11". When it comes to bread storage, bigger is not necessarily better. The less air around bread the better. This bag comes in our blue windowpane pattern only.
